My work reflects my love of wood and a deep respect for the craftsman of old. I try to let the wood speak for itself with colors and shapes as Mother Nature intended. Art is defined as “the use of skill and imagination to create things of beauty”. I possess only the skill and imagination required to uncover the beauty that is already there.
Each rustic log furniture piece I make reflects some of the life of the tree and some of the spirit of the furniture maker. Made from old barn beams, fence posts and rails, slabs from old dead trees and driftwood found along the river, my work brings back the beauty found inside the tree, preserves some of its history and transforms it into useful rustic log furniture and art.

Each rustic log furniture piece is finished smooth while still allowing some of the saw marks or work scars to show through to add unique character. Hand peeled but leaving just the right amount of weathering adds color and age to my work.
